PR to provide land for hospital construction
Rawalpindi—Pakistan Railways would provide land for construction of
hospital for poor and destitute of Rawalpindi to be constructed by Ummah
Welfare Trust (UWT), said Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Federal Minister for
Railways here on Sunday.
“Rawalpindi is my homeland and provision of better medical care and
other facilities to poor and destitute of the city is my
responsibility”, the minister said while talking to Coordinator UWT
Muhammad Inayatullah and President, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (RCCI) Jalil Ahmed Malik.
The minister said that he has set up record educational institutions in
Rawalpindi with the commitment to make this city a real seat of
knowledge. “After completing more than 50 educational institutions
including Women University and College of Arts, I have shifted my
attention towards hospitals and well equipped hospitals would be set up
for masses”, he added.
He praised the efforts of UWT for construction of hospital for poor
people of Rawalpindi and assured that Pakistan Railways would provide
land for construction of hospital. Government, he said is committed to
provide all basic facilities to masses and welfare organization that
help government in this regard would be given high regard.
Speaking on the occasion RCCI President Jalil Ahmed Malik said that
business community of Rawalpindi region was busy in social welfare of
people besides enhancing the trade and commerce activities. “It is moral
obligation of business community to work for welfare of people
particularly poor and destitute”, he added.
“We are well aware of our responsibilities towards people of Rawalpindi
and business community would use its efforts”, Malik said adding that
provision of land by Railway Minister is a good omen and clear
indication of his commitment with people of Rawalpindi.—Online |
