PM reviews budget proposals

ISLAMABAD—Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Sunday reviewed the budget proposals at a meeting held at Prime Minister House as the federal budget for the next financial year will be presented in the National Assembly tomorrow afternoon.
The Prime Minister reviewed the budgetary proposals with the Advisor on Finance, Dr. Salman Shah, Minister of State for Finance, Umar Ayub Khan and Advisor to the Finance Ministry Dr. Ashfaq Hassan Khan. The meeting reviewed the incentives being announced for the people in the next budget. The Prime Minister said the low income group should be given more importance regarding incentives. The meeting also reviewed the measures and efforts proposed in the budget to check prices of basic commodities.
The GDP growth rate, increase in the foreign exchange reserves, improvement in the taxation system and incentives being provided to the investors to encourage them for more investment were also discussed in the meeting.
